Jeg Coughlin Jr. may be entering his third decade of racing as a professional in 2018, but the drag racing superstar is showing no signs of slowing down.

Coughlin's Hall of Fame credentials are already achieved, from his six NHRA championships to his 76 victories – 58 of which came as a pro, ranking him fourth all-time in the Pro Stock category.

But as he turns 48 in 2018, his competitive nature burns as brightly as ever. Coughlin is pursuing his seventh NHRA title and his sixth in the ultra-competitive Pro Stock category. He’ll again drive the Chevrolet Camaro for Elite Motorsports, teaming with two-time Pro Stock champ Erica Enders to form one of the most potent duos in the sport.

Coughlin's pro career started in 1997, after tasting success in the NHRA Sportsman ranks. He scored his first pro win in 1998 and his first professional championship in 2000.

He continued to pile up wins and titles, winning the Pro Stock title in 2002, 2007-08 and 2013 to add to his stellar resume. Those five Pro Stock titles go along with his 1992 Super Gas Championship.

He's tied for ninth on NHRA's list for victories across all classes, and he's the only pro driver to win from every qualifying position, No. 1 to No. 16.

In 1997, Coughlin became the first NHRA driver to win in four different classes in the same season with victories in Pro Stock, Super Stock, Super Gas and Comp. He remains the only driver to accomplish that feat.

He's also the first and only driver to race to victories in seven classes, garnering national event victories in Pro Stock, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Top Dragster.

Coughlin's passion for the sport he loves was never more evident than when he scored an extraordinary win in the K&N Spring Fling 5-Day event at Bristol Dragway in 2015 and then doubled up at the JEGS NHRA Northern SPORTSnationals, reminding everyone of his already legendary bracket-racing prowess.

The youngest son of motorsports and business legend Jeg Coughlin Sr., Jeg Jr. has shown a passion for business success as well. Jeg Jr. and his three brothers John, Troy and Mike own and operate the highly successful family business, JEGS Mail Order.

In the nearly three decades since purchasing the company from their father, the Coughlin brothers have elevated JEGS to a worldwide leader in direct-to-consumer performance products, shipping more than a million orders a year to nearly 100 countries with a near-perfect customer satisfaction rating.

On a personal level, Coughlin has been invigorated away from the track and office by the success of his son, Jeg III, a proud member of the elite golf team at The Ohio State University, while studying Economics and Management. Jeg III won the Ohio High School Athletic Association Division III Golf Championship in his junior year of high school and has been sky-rocketing upwards ever since, oftentimes with his famous father cheering him on from the ropes.

Coughlin and his drag racing wife Samantha also stay busy chasing three-year-old Carly around their Delaware, Ohio, home and racetrack, watching another chapter of the family's unmatched legacy unfold before their eyes. Samantha enjoys powering a JEGS Super Comp dragster and Super Gas Corvette throughout the year and has found success on her own, winning at the NHRA national level.
