Boynton Beach Firefighters announce 19th annual golf tournament benefitting Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (Aug. 28) – Golfing for a cause returns to Boynton Beach with the 19th annual Boynton Beach Firefighter Benevolent Association Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 28, at Cypress Creek Golf Club. As in years past, all proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

This year’s tournament will be a four-person, best-ball scramble, featuring a new and exciting contest – a 50/50 raffle helicopter golf ball drop. Other favorites like the “best-dressed foursome,” a streamlined poker game, and the opportunity to win a new Cadillac with a hole-in-one are also on the schedule.

“We are pleased to invite all of our friends and neighbors to this year’s Boynton Beach Firefighter Benevolent Association Charity Golf Tournament,” said William Bingham, Fire Chief, City of Boynton Beach (retired). “We’re hoping for another full field of 144 golfers and many more enjoying all the festivities surrounding the event.

“Having a great turnout will once again speak to the level of compassion so many people have for a serious and potentially debilitating disease. It also makes it obvious the countless hours our Boynton Beach fire and paramedic professionals and their families put into this event to make it a success. Here’s to a great day of fun family activities and relaxation with lots of community support.”

Entry fee is $100 per golfer, which includes green fees, half a cart, drinks, 19th hole buffet, and various gifts. Additionally, the tournament is looking for sponsors ranging from the $2,500 Fire Chief’s Title Sponsor to $125 individual hole sponsorships.
