Country star Travis Meadows to perform at 2019 ‘Bejeweled’ fundraiser

HOUSTON (Nov. 5) — Guests attending the 2019 Bejeweled event benefitting the Center for Success and Independence (TCSI) will be entertained by star musician Travis Meadows, the country music sensation whose latest hit, “Better Boat,” sung by Kenny Chesney, is soaring up the Billboard charts.

“We are thrilled and honored to have Travis Meadows join us for our Bejeweled fundraiser,” said Robert Woods, co-founder of TCSI and former Houston Oiler football star. “He’s such a talented guy and his personal journey mirrors those of many of the children we treat here at the Center.

“Travis is one of those songwriters where I guarantee you’ve heard and fallen in love with many of his songs, either with him singing them himself or one of the many stars in the country music world singing songs he’s written. I know our guests will enjoy him immensely. I’m also very happy he’s going to visit the Center while he’s here to speak with our kids and show them they can get through the various challenges they face.”

Indeed, another of Meadows’ songs, “Sideways,” which is featured on his latest album “First Cigarette,” was penned after he made a visit to another adolescent addiction treatment center.

“His personal experiences make him the perfect fit for this event,” Woods said.

Aside from Chesney, Meadows has written hit sings for the likes of Hank Williams Jr., Eric Church, Dierks Bentley, Wynonna Judd and many others.

Founded in 1999 by renowned psychotherapist Woods, M.Ed., and his partner Marylou Erbland, Ph.D., TCSI is a Houston-based residential and intensive outpatient treatment program for kids aged 12 to 17, whose psychological and emotional disorders, addictions and/or history of trauma have impaired their behavioral functioning and adversely impacted their everyday home, school and community environment.

All funds raised for Bejeweled 2019 through ticket sales and sponsorships are earmarked for the Center’s scholarship fund that extends treatment for patients and their families who need help beyond what the state or their insurance company will pay.

There are several ways to join the fun at Bejeweled 2019 with individual tickets and various levels of sponsorship offered. All attendees will enjoy what’s sure to be a memorable night with Meadows, Guest of Honor Earl Campbell, the Houston Oiler and University of Texas football star, and Hall of Fame sports writer and personality John McClain, as well as live music, food, beverages and tours of Alara Garage, which houses some of the nicest privately-owned cars in Houston.
